Racially charged messages continue to menace FGCU

Published: Updated:

FORT MYERS, Fla. — Another whiteboard showing a racially explicit message showed up on the campus of Florida Gulf Coast University, the school’s president said.

A student saw “Noose Tying 101” written on a whiteboard in the library, campus police said. The writing has since been erased.

Police believe the message was written Tuesday between 2 and 3 p.m. Protests broke out on campus last month after a whiteboard with a racial slur and an offensive drawing was spotted outside a professor’s office.

Call Det. Joe Anderson at 590-1956 if you have any information about the case.
