Deadline looms for unsigned mail-in ballots

Published:

FORT MYERS, Fla. – If you forgot to sign your mail-in ballot, time is running out for you to ensure your vote counts in the Nov. 8 election.

The Supervisor of Elections office in your county will notify you by mail with an affidavit if you sent in a mail-in ballot without signing it. The affidavit must be signed and returned to the elections office no later than 5 p.m. Monday.

That’s a day earlier than the deadline for the submission of mail-in ballots that do have signatures. Those will count as long as the elections office has it by 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Lee County allows you to check the status of your mail-in ballot online. For more information and to find your poll location visit http://www.lee.vote/.

The deadline to request a mail-in ballot has already passed.
