Prosecutors drop investigation of Sanibel priest
SANIBEL, Fla. — An investigation focusing on a Sanibel priest is now closed due to insufficient evidence, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office said.
Father Christopher Senk of St. Isabel Parish was being investigated for allegedly stealing money from an elderly church member with dementia.
Officials believed Father Senk took advantage of his position to financially exploit the victim, even though the victim’s family members, who were also appointed guardians, told him to stop.
Father Senk is currently on paid administrative leave.
