FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla. – A 52-foot vessel is being towed by the U.S. Coast Guard to Fort Myers Beach after it lost a rudder 65 miles off the coast of Sanibel Thursday night, the agency said. Coast Guard crews have towed the boat, the Karen Bell from Cortez, since 11 p.m. Thursday, said Ashley J. Johnson, a USCG spokesperson. The Karen Bell left the Bradenton area on Oct. 15 for a grouper fishing trip. Three people were on board the ship. No injuries were reported.
