NAPLES, Fla. – One more person in Collier County has contracted the Zika virus in a country outside the United States, according to the latest report from the Florida Department of Health.

The most recent domestic case of Zika is linked to the Miami neighborhood, Wynwood, which had its Zika zone designation lifted in September.

The first case of Zika in Collier County was reported in March. There have been a total of eight travel-related cases in Collier.

The news comes on the heels of Collier Mosquito Control’s decision to suspend aeriel pesticide spraying for the dry season.
