Suggestions run wild for new Bonita high school name

BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. — Donald J. Trump High School. Toxic High School. Northern Imperial Monumentally Beneficial Yada Yada Yada High School.

Those won’t be the names of the new high school that will be built in Bonita Springs, but they were among a list of creative, crude and downright bizarre suggestions that members of the public submitted in response to a School District of Lee County request.

The district narrowed down hundreds of submissions to three — Bonita Springs High School, Imperial River High School and Thomas Edison High School — that were considered at a meeting Tuesday. Board members lent their support to naming it Bonita Springs High School, though they have yet to make a final decision.
