Mark Glen Deschamps OKEECHOBEE, Fla. — A man with 15 previous felony convictions was talked into turning himself in for the murder of one of his roommates, the Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office said. Mark Glen Deschamps, 47, had been using methamphetamine and was without sleep for several days when he fatally stabbed Flavia Escobar-Munoz and wounded Dwayne Thomas at the home where they live on 1648 N.W. 48th Terrace, Thomas told deputies. Deschamps suspected both of stealing from him, Thomas said. Deschamps was covered in blood when he surrendered to authorities. He’s in custody facing weapons and drug possessions charges on top of the murder count. No bond has been set.
