LCSO arrest man with track record of fraud

FORT MYERS, Fla. — Former mortgage broker Randall Thomas Rosado, 43, was arrested by Lee County deputies on Saturday for fraud and obstruction of justice.

However, Rosado has had multiple brushes with the law throughout Florida.

Rosado first faced disciplinary action in 2015 while working as a broker in Palm Beach. He was fined $1,000 and had his broker’s license revoked when officials found out he didn’t have the requisite license, according to a Florida Real Estate Commission Report.

Other allegations included working as a sales associate for a company not registered as his employer, failing to place a deposit in an escrow account, failing to place a deposit with his registered broker, collecting money in a name other than his employer, failing to notify the Department of a change in his mailing address within 10 days after the change and failing to deliver a deposit to his broker.

Rosado was then arrested in June at his home in New York for forging deeds to several properties in Florida in order to appropriate them for his personal gain, according to a weekly report published by Governor Rick Scott.

At the time of his arrest, detectives from Lee, St. Lucie and Indian River Counties executed a search warrant of Rosado’s Unit in Vero Beach.

Apparently, Rosado was collecting rent for over six years from properties in Lee County, Collier County and Palm Beach County belonging to other individuals who were foreclosing. Rosado allegedly forged property owners’ signatures on quit claim deeds and filed them with the associated counties.

In addition to forgery, Rosado was also charged for creating fraudulent arrest warrants for people such as Lee County Circuit Judge John Duryea and Lee County Clerk of Court Linda Doggett, as well as several others.

Rosado was also charged for mailing fake documents from the “International Court of Commerce” to the same individials. Rosado’s arrest included an order to extradite him from anywhere in the United States with a bond set at $1.5 million.

Rosado is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
