Hive removed, dog killed in Cape Coral bee swarm

CAPE CORAL, Fla. – A dog was killed in a bee swarm that prompted a multi-agency response at the 1400 block of S.W. 53rd Terrace on Thursday just before 1 p.m.

A Cape Coral firefighter who is also a beekeeper removed the hive, according to the Cape Coral Police Department. Officers, firefighters and EMS were on the scene where residents were asked to bring any animals indoors and to close all doors and windows.
