LCSO: Bonita Springs barricade situation ends peacefully

BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. – Deputies and a SWAT team responded to reports of barricaded man at a home on the 28000 block of Westbrook Drive, Friday afternoon, but the situation, which had many residents concerned, ended peacefully.

Once officers were able to enter the home, they found the man unconscious and suffering from a “medical event,”according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies did not provide further details about the condition of the man, but said they found weapons in the home.

The man was taken to the hospital, deputies said. No other injuries were reported and no charges have been filed, LCSO said.

The incident is still under investigation, according to LCSO.
