(Credit: WINK News/FILE) MANASOTA KEY, Fla. — Thousands of dead fish are washing up on the beaches in Sarasota and Charlotte County due to high levels of toxic algae, or red tide. The algae is continuing to bloom, causing the water to darken and kill the fish. Officials warn children and elderly people with respiratory issues to avoid areas with high concentrations of red tide.
