FORT MYERS, Fla. – A 50-year-old man will not face criminal charges after hitting and killing a motorcyclist on Saturday, Fort Myers police said Monday. Frank Michael Kasper was driving southbound on Treeline Avenue in a 2000 Ford van at about 9:35 a.m. when he made a left onto Plantation Gardens Drive and into the path of Michael Wayne De Terra, 50, who was riding a 2015 Harley Davidson. De Terra was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital, where he died of his injuries, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Kasper was issued a citation for failing to yield right of way while making a turn. Neither drugs or alcohol appear to be factors in the wreck, police said.
