CAPE CORAL, Fla. — A Cape Coral woman has been sentenced to three years in prison and ordered to repay more than $1.1 million as part of a plea agreement for defrauding a real estate investment training company, the U.S. Justice Department said.

Junipher Sayers, 34, stole money from Cape Coral-based Tigrent Inc. by submitting and processing fraudulent invoices and funneling those payments to multiple shell companies she created, according to the Justice Department.

The FBI and the Cape Coral Police Department cooperated on the case.
