Charlotte County deputy reprimanded for improper database use

PUNTA GORDA, Fla. – A Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office deputy has been reprimanded for using department resources to look up private details about a man who runs a watchdog website.

Deputy Robert Tuck reportedly used a driver’s database system to get information about the person who runs the Charlotte County Cop-Watch website, according to a letter of reprimand written by Major Michael Anderson. That man claims Tuck then posted that information to an online law enforcement forum.

While the department said Tuck improperly used the database, they maintain that any information he posted did not come from their database.

Any future violations by Tuck could result in serious disciplinary action, the letter said.
