FORT MYERS, Fla. – Free money sounds too good to be true, but there are several websites that offer cash back just for shopping with them.

Cash-back sites allow you to make money while shopping, blogger Kyle James of rather-be-shopping.com said.

For example, on topcashback.com, all you have to do is click on a preferred retailer, do your shopping, and then you get 8 percent back on your total purchase.

Another great cash-back website is Ebates, which has occasional coupons: More money saved!

Ibotta works with almost every grocery store and gives you money back on select items after submitting a photo of your receipt.

“If you buy a loaf of bread or you buy a gallon of milk, you’re going to get money back on that no matter what store you bought it at, no matter what brand you bought,” James said.

The percentage of money you get back from these sites range from 1 to 18 percent. In some cases, you get a check, money to your PayPal account or a gift card. One company, MainStreetShares, gives you equity in the company on top of cash.

Different sites have different benefits, so the best thing to do is to do your research on a few. Determine where you shop the most and find the site that best suits you. Remember, always check with a site’s disclosure and privacy policies before agreeing to anything.
