FORT MYERS, Fla. – For the third year in a row the Chick-Fil-A at Daniels and U.S. 41 in Fort Myers is celebrating the life of one of their former employees and raising money for pediatric cancer at the same time.

Wendy Kay Romeis, lost her battle to cancer two years ago after being diagnosed with osteosarcoma, at the age of 24 and battled the disease until she passed away in 2014 at the age of 27. Wendy left a mark on the owners and staff at the Fort Myers Chick-Fil-A where she first worked and got her first job at the age of 15.

Throughout the years, customers and staff grew to know and recognize her infectious smile. Even after she left the restaurant at 19 to pursue another career. Today the staff, her family and Wendy’s former colleagues and friends come together to remember her and raise money for pediatric cancer research. Throughout the day, Tuesday, September 6th from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. as long as you eat Chick-Fil-A you’re supporting the cause.

20% of all proceeds raised at the Fort Myers location where Wendy worked, will go to the Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida, one of the hospitals where Wendy was treated. Patrons can also make an additional monetary donation if they like, last year Wenday Kay Day brought in more than $5,000.

The participating Chick-Fil-A is located at 13610 S Tamiami Trail in Fort Myers .
