NAPLES, Fla. — Hail and wind gusts of about 35 mph from a thunderstorm prompted the temporary shutdown of the Naples Pier at about 3 p.m. Tuesday, WINK News has learned.

It reopened shortly before 8 p.m.

Radar when the pier closed indicated a swath of rain over Collier County amid the fringe effects of Tropical Depression Nine.
