FORT MYERS, Fla. — A new study in The New England Journal of Medicine suggesting that nearly half of the women who have early-stage breast cancer can avoid chemotherapy is promising, doctors say, but they agree that more research is needed. Still, Dr. Michael Raymond of Florida Cancer Specialists in Fort Myers says the findings of the study give him and other doctors the ability to make better predictions about how the disease will affect patients.
