Jessica Thompson received a phone call from her 16-year-old son, who was inside the Chase Bank at 5767 Lee Blvd., right after it happened. The teenager was opening his first bank account. “Oh my gosh I was petrified, you know,” she said. “I mean i knew where he was at. He came up to Chase Bank to get his bank account and I just never would have expected that here. He was in tears. He was in tears and for him you know, he’s a tough boy. He’s 16. He’s a tough boy but you could tell he was distressed.” No injuries were immediately reported. No further information was immediately available.
