PUNTA GORDA, Fla. – Inside an old 100,000-square-foot Wal-Mart in Punta Gorda, you’ll find a unique museum that will take you back in time and show you some rare and pristine classic cars.

For the past eight years, Muscle Car City has been showing off their collection of General Motors vehicles.

From GTO to Corvette, even Tri-Five and Oldsmobile, the museum is home to more than 230 vehicles as well as the last known 1936 Chevrolet Phaeton, one of only seven ever made.

Car lovers keep busy getting up close and personal to these specialized vehicles. Or can spend hours talking shop and pick up some memorabilia of their own at the in-house speed and gift shop. The museum is also filled with vintage gas pumps and automobile antiques from decades past that line the walls and floor.

Muscle Car City is open Tuesday through Sundays 9 a.m.- 5 p.m. and is closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Adult museum admission is $12.50 and children ages 2-12 are $6. To learn more about Muscle Car City, click here or call  941-575-5959.
