SANIBEL, Fla.- E8 has been cleared for release and will return to the wild in the near future, the Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife (CROW) said Friday. The eaglet has been successfully catching rats during live prey testing and continues to improve on the skills needed for catching live fish. E8’s stay at CROW was extended to ensure vital hunting skills were developed. The eaglet has been recovering since May after being found with a fractured femur.
