FORT MYERS, Fla. – A woman said she was sexually assaulted on the campus of Florida Gulf Coast University on Tuesday around 10:30 p.m., according to a crime alert issued to students, faculty and staff. The woman was in a stairwell at Siedler Hall when she was attacked, but was able to run away from her attacker, according to FGCU Police & Safety. Authorities are looking for someone described as a Hispanic male, with stocky build and dark short hair. He may be in his 40s and was wearing a red shirt, with black jeans and boots at the time of the attack. A student said he’s seen someone working at the school who matches that description. Police are questioning the cleaning staff. The victim doesn’t intend to press charges, according to a police report. Anyone with information is asked to please call Det. Anderson at 239-590-1956.
