Hail, lightning and heavy rains during strong storms across SWFL

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Lightning struck more than 10,000 times in three hours, adding to heavy rains and hail seen during strong storms across Southwest Florida, WINK Weather Meteorologist Jim Farrell said.

Some areas received between two and four inches of rain. In Cape Coral where the rainfall totals were 4.5 inches, up to 2,500 LCEC customers were without power.
