NAPLES, Fla. – A 50-foot fire burning at a North Collier County construction facility is fully contained and presents no threat to the surrounding area, according to Chief Eric Watson of North Collier Fire and Rescue.

A pile of horticultural waste caught fire at Jones’ Mining Company on Immokalee Road and will probably burn for several days up to a few weeks because of the difficulty of extinguishing well-fueled flames, Watson said.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
