FORT MYERS, Fla. — Another hot day is coming Thursday to Southwest Florida, though the high temperature is unlikely to come as close to a record as it did Wednesday.

Highs around the area should be near 96, just like Wednesday. However, Thursday’s record high for Fort Myers is 101, set in 1942. Wednesday’s record was 97.

Thursday morning will feature a mix of sun and clouds with warm and muggy conditions. A slight chance of rain along the coast exists from 10 a.m. to noon, but it’ll otherwise be mostly dry.

A few spotty storms will develop for the afternoon and evening, when it’ll be hot and humid with a continued mix of sun and clouds. Heat indices will climb between 100 and 105, with isolated spots seeing heat indices as high as 110.
