FORT MYERS, Fla.- More than 50 million Americans have arthritis, and there are more than 100 different types of arthritis. The most common type is osteoarthritis, and it can cause excruciating pain. Dr. Victoria Yorke, a family physician with Lee Physician Group, stopped by the studio to talk about treatments for arthritis that don’t come in pill form.

Supplements and spices:

  • SAMe
  • Turmeric
  • Green tea, especially Matcha (2-4 cups daily recommended)
  • Ginger
  • Cayenne pepper

Other foods to consider:

  • Dark red or purple fruits and vegetables
  • Coldwater fish, salmon and black cod
  • Nuts
  • Garlic
  • Organic maple syrup
