MGN FORT MYERS, Fla. — Police are looking for two men who allegedly tried to rob a Fort Myers convenience store at gunpoint late Tuesday. One of the men pointed a gun at a customer and a store clerk who were standing outside the Speedway at 4920 Palm Beach Boulevard just before 11 p.m. Tuesday, according to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers. A language barrier between the suspects created enough time for the clerk to lock the door from the inside before the suspects could enter, Crime Stoppers said. Authorities described one of the suspects as a black man who was wearing a ski mask and the other as a Hispanic man. Both fled the scene. Crime Stoppers asks anyone with information about the case to call 1-800-780-TIPS (8477). Callers will remain anonymous and are eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
