MGN OCALA, Fla. (AP) – Authorities say a Florida woman shot a man after he broke into her home near Ocala. Marion County Sheriff’s Capt. Brian Spivey tells The Ocala Star-Banner the woman was alone at her home Sunday night when a man came to the door and tried to persuade her to let him inside. The woman told investigators she didn’t know the man. Spivey says the woman told police she hid when the man forced his way into the home. The man continued to look for her. Spivey says the woman shot him in the stomach. Spivey says charges are pending against the man, who was taken to Ocala Regional Medical Center. He did not know the man’s condition or his name. The woman’s name was not released.
