LEHIGH ACRES, Fla.- A 25-year-old man was killed in a crash on Joel Boulevard Tuesday afternoon, Florida Highway Patrol said.

Lehigh Acres resident Lewis Joy was travelling eastbound on Joel Boulevard in “excess of the posted speed limit” on a Suzuki GSX-R motorcycle when the collision took place, FHP said.

A vehicle, driven by 87-year-old Walter Curll, was making a left turn onto Joel Boulevard from Joel Way when the motorcyclist crashed into it, troopers said.

Officials say Joy was thrown from the motorcycle and died at the scene.

Curll and his passenger, 85-year-old Dolores Curll, were transported to Lehigh Regional Medical Center in serious condition.
