Bayshore Road reopens near I-75 after car freed from under semi

NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. — All lanes of Bayshore Road have reopened near the junction with Interstate 75 after a crash involving a car trapped under a semitrailer truck, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The gruesome-looking wreck caused a roadblock for close to three hours. The driver of the car that was lodged under the truck was transported to a hospital with only minor injuries, while the passenger of that car had only a minor cut to his face. The truck driver was unhurt.

The crash is under investigation. No further information was immediately available.
