NORTH NAPLES, Fla. — A suspect is in custody after bullets pierced two unoccupied police cars in the parking garage at the Mercato shopping center in North Naples overnight.

The bullets that went through one Collier County Sheriff’s Office vehicle and into another parked alongside it were fired shortly after midnight early Saturday morning, the sheriff’s office said. No one was hurt in the incident, which took place shortly after 1:30 a.m.

The suspect is 22-year-old Stefan D. Morales, the sheriff’s office said. He faces charges of possession of a concealed firearm and shooting into an unoccupied vehicle.

Morales was apprehended shortly thereafter when he was traveling in a silver car on Vanderbilt Beach Road in front of the Vineyards community and deputies ordered the driver to pull over. No further information is immediately available.
