FORT MYERS, Fla. — A vehicle crash involving a dump truck that rolled over and a Lee County-owned van at Summerlin Road and Winkler Road in Fort Myers has blocked Summerlin and left two drivers injured, the Florida Highway Patrol said. Traffic is being rerouted around the intersection, WINK News has learned. The dump truck is leaking gas and a sand pile is in the road. The wreck happened when the van was making a U-turn and the dump truck was proceeding through a green light, FHP said, adding that the van driver appears to have been at fault. Both drivers were taken to Lee Memorial Hospital with injuries that aren’t life-threatening.
