3 tourists arrested after South Fort Myers bank robbery

SOUTH FORT MYERS, Fla. — Three tourists have been arrested in connection to a bank robbery at Fifth Third Bank at 9000 Park Royal Drive in South Fort Myers, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.

Bret Strusiner, 43; Paul Paynter, 52; and Karen Bajoras, 43; are from Illinois and were visiting Southwest Florida for vacation, LCSO said. They are accused of robbing the bank before 12 p.m. on Saturday, according to LCSO.

Several Lee County Sheriff’s deputies were gathered around the crime scene Saturday morning. They were able to collect evidence and discovered a vehicle that led to the three arrests later that day.

Strusiner, Paynter and Bajoras are facing robbery charges.
