SAN CARLOS PARK, Fla.- A 19-year-old was cited for improperly changing lanes in a crash Friday morning that sent a motorcyclist to the hospital with serious injuries. The driver was traveling north on U.S. 41, just south of Alico Road, when she changed lanes and crashed into 34-year-old Charles Wheatley of Fort Myers, Florida Highway Patrol said. Wheatley was thrown from his motorcycle and onto the roadway, FHP said. He was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital following the crash, according to FHP. The 19-year-old was also cited for having no proof of valid insurance, troopers said.
