North Naples nuisance gator gets released

Published: Updated:

LABELLE, Fla.- If you have ever wondered if large nuisance gators get released, the answer is yes.

A North Naples 12-foot nuisance gator that sits at more than 400 lbs is living proof at Townsend and Sons Gator Farm and Processing. The farm name says it all–it does harvest gators and sell eggs, but they also save alligators. There are more than a thousand males and females gliding across the swampy waters basking in the sun.

The pardoned alligators can thank Ray the Trapper who is one of the only trappers in the state with a class 2 license that allows him to trap, house and relocate massive gators. He brought in a 12-foot and 7-foot gator Friday.

He has a Facebook page and will answer any questions or concerns.
