Bluegrass, Brew & BBQ Celebrates 3rd Year

FORT MYERS, Fla. – For the 3rd year, Matanzas on the Bay is honoring our military men and women this Memorial Day weekend with Bluegrass, Brew & BBQ.

The entire event supports and raises money for Operation Open Arms, a local non-profit dedicated to the care and treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder in military personal and veterans.

Starting Saturday at 11 a.m., the event is free and open to the public, bluegrass music from Bugtussle Ramblers and Cooter Creek Bluegrass Band will take the stage throughout the day and early evening.

A BBQ buffet of ribs, smoked pork shanks, potato salad along with corn on the cob will be available for $15 from 12 p.m.- 8 p.m. Fifty percent of all food and beer sales, along with 10 percent of all checks, go back to Operation Open Arms.

Craft beer will be provided by Fort Myers Brewing Company, free boat dockage is available, Matanzas on the Bay is located at 416 Crescent Street on Fort Myers Beach.
