PUNTA GORDA, Fla.- A 62-year-old man is facing sexual battery charges, accused of abusing a child under the age of 12. John Clarence Thurber, Jr. was arrested after the victim told her family about the year-long abuse she had suffered, the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office said. Thurber is being held at the Charlotte County Jail with no bond. The sheriff’s office is looking to speak with anyone who has knowledge of any additional victims.
