The Sun Sentinel reports that Broward County jurors found 24-year-old Robert Morris guilty Monday of second-degree murder. He faces life in prison at a June 10 sentencing. Morris testified that he was afraid for his life when drug dealer Omar Khan pulled a gun on him for failing to make a promised payment in October 2014. Jurors didn’t believe his self-defense claim. Authorities say co-defendant Roderick Dalton helped Morris get away after the shooting and advised him to get rid of the gun. He is facing a related charge as an accessory after the fact. He remains at large.
