Get Salted! At the White Orchid Spa

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The White Orchid Spa in Fort Myers is now home to a rare and very unique spa therapy, called halotherapy which uses salt and can help cleanse the body and respiratory system.

The new halotherapy room features six zero gravity chairs and each session lasts 45 minuets as clients relax on a salt floor and breath in the fine crushed salt that is circulated throughout the air at a cool 69 degrees.

Halotherapy can also be used as a form of alternative medicine and help improve symptoms of patients who have respiratory or skin conditions, supporting the immune, nervous and lymphatic systems.

“The benefits of salt therapy are wide-ranging,” said Cheryl Harris, owner of White Orchid Spa. “Salt levels affect our cell activity, energy and blood sugar levels. The negatively charged ions in salt improve our health and mood.”

Currently the spa offers halotherapy sessions four times a day Tuesday through Saturday, at $60 for a 45 minute session. However throughout the month of June they’re offering a 45 minute session for just $45.
