1 in custody in Waterside Shops jewelry store robbery, police chase

NAPLES, Fla.- One person is in custody following a robbery Tuesday afternoon at the Torneau jewelry store at the Waterside Shops, the Collier County Sheriff’s Office said.

Authorities say a man entered the Torneau store and grabbed two watches off the counter before leaving and jumping into a car waiting nearby.

Deputies began pursuing the vehicle heading north on U.S. 41. The suspect turned right on Wiggins Pass Road where they abandoned the vehicle and began running from deputies, CCSO said.

One suspect was captured shortly after but authorities are still searching for the second suspect.
