Tow truck driver injured in Lehigh Acres shooting

LEHIGH ACRES, Fla.- Police are looking for a suspect after one person was injured in a shooting late Monday afternoon on the 1200 block of Homestead Road, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office confirmed.

The victim is a tow truck driver, LSCO said. He was unloading a vehicle from his truck when an unidentified man became annoyed, according to LCSO. The two men began to argue about whether the tow truck driver was blocking the driveway and the suspect pulled out a semi-automatic handgun, LCSO said. He shot the tow truck driver once, then sped away in a silver Nissan, LCSO said.

A woman was also in the man’s car.

The victim’s injuries were non-life threatening and he was alert while being transported to the hospital, deputies said.

The shooter has not been apprehended by deputies.
