Couple wanted in connection to Lee County car break-in

FORT MYERS, Fla.- A couple was captured on surveillance cameras attempting to use stolen credit cards at two east Lee County stores.

The victim’s car was broken into sometime overnight on April 26 after she left it parked in the driveway of her Lake Run Drive home in the Gateway area, authorities said.

The victim’s purse, containing credit cards, cash and personal identification, as well as a laptop computer were stolen during the car burglary.

Between the hours of 1 a.m.- 3:30 a.m. on April 27, authorities say the thieves attempted to use the victim’s credit card  at the Lehigh Express and a Shell gas station on State Road 82.

All of the purchase attempts were declined since the suspects did not have a correct PIN to complete the transactions, authorities said.
