FORT MYERS, Fla. – A 20-year-old will spend his life in prison for the 2012 murders of a teen and mother as announced in a sentence hearing Monday.

Justin Daniel Wirth was found guilty on his birthday in March of two counts of first-degree murder for the killing of 16-year-old William “Dalton” Haley and his mother 43-year-old Amy Loreh in their Lehigh Acres home. He was also convicted of armed robbery.

Wirth’s friend, Clayton Combs, accepted a plea deal and was given 40 years in prison. He also faced first-degree murder charges in the crime but testified against Wirth in March.

All three men, Wirth, Haley and Combs, attended Riverdale High School as teens, according to the News-Press.

Just days after the murders, Wirth is heard speaking about his intentions, saying “I went there to take him (Haley) out. I just shot him when he got around the corner in the back of the head.”
