BUNNELL, Fla. (AP) – Animal control officers have seized four dogs after reports that they killed 20 chickens and a cat in a central Florida neighborhood.

A Flagler County Sheriff’s Office report says deputies received a call Saturday afternoon about dogs attacking livestock.

The Daytona Beach News-Journal reports the deputy saw the dogs enter the property where their owner lives in Bunnell. A neighbor told deputies the dogs had slaughtered his chickens and that he saw them kill another neighbor’s cat.

The animal control team captured two of the dogs outside the gate of the owner’s property. They went onto his property to get the other two. They found five more dogs in cages in the home without food or water.

An investigation continues. The dog’s owner hasn’t been charged.
