Surveillance footage depicts alleged Lehigh Acres water-system theft

LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. – A man was captured stealing a home’s water pressure tank “during broad daylight” on surveillance video, according to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers.

The incident happened on April 26 at a house on the 2700 block on Sunshine Boulevard North, authorities said. The homeowner installed security cameras after his water system was stolen in December 2015.

The latest suspect is clearly seen in images from the surveillance video. According to authorities, he pulled up his Chevy Astro van into the driveway, walked to the side of the home and dismantled the unit. He then carried the water pressure tank to his vehicle before leaving.

The man is accused of committing at least one of three crimes.
