Lotus Smoke Shop busted for selling synthetic marijuana

FORT MYERS, Fla.- The owner of the Lotus Smoke Shop, 12377 S Cleveland Avenue, was arrested Thursday after deputies discovered spice, a form of synthetic marijuana, was being sold at the store, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office said.

Detectives conducted surveillance and several undercover operations during a four-month investigation which resulted in 38-year-old Adnan Yousuf Virani’s arrest.

Two search warrants were executed and the following items were located and seized:

  • 471 individual packages of spice
  • 2012 Toyota Camry
  • More than 8,000 pieces of paraphernalia including pipes, bongs, grinders, scales, hookahs
  • Approximately $25,000 in cash
