Boys approached by stranger in Golden Gate Estates

GOLDEN GATE ESTATES, Fla.- Two boys reported being approached by a stranger in Golden Gate Estates Thursday evening, the Collier County Sheriff’s Office said.

The boys, ages 9 and 10, told deputies they were walking along 12th Street Northeast, off Golden Gate Boulevard, around 6:30 p.m. when they were approached by a man in a truck.

Detectives described the man as being in his 60s or 70s and very short in stature with a very thin build.

His vehicle was described as an older model black pickup with an extended cab and a ladder strapped to the roof. The truck had minor dents and scratches and rusty patches on it.
