FORT MYERS, Fla. – The husband accused of killing his wife, local doctor Teresa Sievers, cannot afford to fully pay lawyers who are representing him.

The Faga Law Group is still representing their client Mark Sievers, who in late March entered a written plea of not guilty for the death of his wife. However, he does not have enough money to pay them for running dispositions and subpoenas, among other tasks for trial, said his lawyer Michael Mummert.

The law group has filed a motion asking the state to pay for the costs, which would mean taxpayers could pick up the bill. The motion declares Mark Sievers indigent. It was previously determined that Mark Sievers could not afford a lawyer but instead of agreeing to a public defender, his mother, Bonnie Sievers, hired Faga Law Group.
