Marlins pitcher Edwin Jackson put on DL, Wittgren recalled

MIAMI (AP) – Miami Marlins right-hander Edwin Jackson has been put on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right triceps, and right-hander Nick Wittgren was recalled from Triple-A New Orleans to make his major league debut.

Jackson’s arm has bothered him off and on, and the Marlins don’t believe the ailment is serious, manager Don Mattingly said Tuesday.

Jackson went 0-1 with a 2.45 ERA in 3 2/3 innings of relief. Wittgren had a 3.38 ERA in 5 1/3 innings at New Orleans.
