LEHIGH ACRES, Fla.- Lehigh Community Services says it’s in desperate need of food donations for its pantry. The center says with an increase in population and the recent changed to the food stamp program, their shelves are nearly empty. “We’re still looking for more food. The staples: peanut butter, jelly, pasta, soup, spaghetti sauce, canned meat, canned pasta, tuna fish, things like that. Ramen noodles go real big and especially cereal for children,” said executive director Charlotte Rae Nicely. The food pantry serves 150 families a week and served 390,000 people last year.
